CT Observation 1 Level 2 Reflection

1a Aligns instruction with state-adopted standards at the appropriate level of rigor

At 18:30, I noticed that I aligned my instruction with a state-adopted standard and made an appropriate objective for my student’s level because the students were engaged and had good discussion.

2h. Adapts the learning environment to accommodate the differing needs and diversity of students

At 1:03, I had students move to the carpet instead of having them at their desks to do my intro for the lesson. The students are younger and focus better when they are in a whole-group session on the carpet, so I adapted the learning environment by incorporating the carpet as the meeting place for instruction. And at 8:05, students smoothly transitioned to their desk into table groups.

3 a. Deliver engaging and challenging lessons

My students were engaged in the content because we had a group activity that was interactive and involved all students. All students were engaged in discussion with their predictions and worked collaboratively to record their results. This was eveident at 18:30 when I overheard a lot of good discussion from students connecting their predications to prior knowledge.
