The illustrations in the book show the design of the ship and why it was a disaster when it hit the ice burg. The purpose of the book is to inform people about the disaster and why there are always enough extra boats for all passengers in ships that are created nowadays. I would recommend this children’s book to children learning about the titanic and how it is important in American History. I would rate the book 5 out of 5 stars.

In-depth analysis:

The information in the book is accurate and authentic. This important event is history is very well known, so this book has all the information up-to-date and all the significant facts about the event are included. The intended audience is for younger ages, so the language is appropriate. The language in the text presents the information very clear to make it easier to understand. There is a reference page included and there are quotes from primary sources of the event cited in the book. The book also contains a table of contents, and glossary. The photographs in the book come straight from the event or correctly depict the exact situation. All visuals also are followed by captions to correctly identify pictures. The text and illustrations avoid stereotypes and only discuss the facts from the event. Different viewpoints are presented from primary sources as well.

This book is perfect to display traveling and show students all different cultures from around the world. On each page in the book, it discusses a new city in a different country. The purpose of this book is to inform students of diversity and different places around the world other than their own home. I would recommend this book to any teacher who is teaching about global concepts. I would rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
