Reflect and Connect 2

Growing up, I have always wanted to make a difference. I want to live my life knowing I impacted people and being a teacher is a perfect opportunity to do so. I see my future students as little light bulbs waiting to be illuminated. I value the moment when children finally understand the material. It makes me think of a light bulb turning on in their head. When that moment happens, and I see the true happiness of the students who has mastered something, it makes me feel accomplished.

In my internship, I have experienced this feeling quite a few times. When I work in small groups with the ESE students, and I am able to explain a concept to them that they never understood before, I see the metaphorical light go off in their head. Little moments like this are why I am training and practicing to become a future teacher. I want to impact as many students as possible. Even with small victories, they mean the same to me as big victories. Each small step in the right direction is better than where the student was previously at before.
